Fishing Striped Bass on Nantucket is Awesome! especially in Madaket

Striped Bass and bluefish continue to flood into Madaket waters, which is a good thing for the rest of the fishery. Capt. Nat Reeder landed 40+ striped bass yesterday morning fishing the shallows of the harbor.  These were not big fish, but they were fish!  Those fishing great point from the point continue to catch blues and blues are littered along the north shore as well with Striped Bass sprinkled in. WIth the number of Striped Bass on the west side of Nantucket, the north shore and harbor will fill in again very soon.

Nat was on a Charter.  Those of us fishing/guiding on the regulators on charters have been catching bass east of great point in the offshore rips. Striped Bass have also been in Hankerchief shoals as well over off of Monomoy.

Key lures have been Super Strike lures, Hogy’s, Bombers and if you can not get the fish up, go for deep divers.  Long and Short Striped Bass Fishing on Nantucket is getting very good.
