Dec. 1st Fishing Report Nantucket
Dear Fishermen and Friends,
Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Stroll!
We hope that everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving with their families and spent time on the water! At Bill Fisher Tackle, we were extremely Thankful for the newest addition to our big Family. In October, Capt Corey and his wife Jen brought James Morgan Gammill into this world. We know it’s a few years away, but we expect James to be helping out in the shop and on the boats very soon.
This weekend on Nantucket is Christmas Stroll. We will see the Island population triple and and downtown will feel busier than 4th of July. It is awesome! Hopefully you enjoy the festive feel of the Island, but when you want to enjoy the beauty of Nantucket do not forget about pond fishing! It has been awesome. We have the shop open through the weekend so stop by for up to the minute info and to buy some Christmas gifts. Through the weekend,we will be giving away a hat with every purchase. This is the perfect stocking stuffer!
Long Pond, Hummock Pond and Sesachacha all are holding holdover Striped Bass and man is it fun. A friend of the shop caught a 40 inch fish just a week ago. With our weather, we expect those fish to be active, so be prepared. Miacomet Pond is also very active and has a steady pick of perch and Pickeral, which is a blast. Maxey Pond also holds a ton of Crappie and Perch. Go wet a line!
Feel free to e-mail us during the Holiday season if you need anything. We are happy to ship anything off-Island we really appreciate you supporting a local business. (oh and we’ll include a hat!)
Happy Holidays and thank you for all of your support over the past year.
