My good friend Nat went out fishing from the beach this am when he had a boat available to him.  I know that either way he was going to fish the harbor, so I asked him why the beach and not the boat?  His answer was that he wanted to fish tight to the beach in the warm water where the life was…  Great answer.

I probably would have chosen the boat so as to add the drift element so as to cover more water.  Some people think boat fishermen always out fish beach fishermen, but this is not true.  A smart beach fishermen can usually locate the spot where fish are and stay on them, but early season I prefer to drift and to find pockets of fish as the winter time, especially with the winter freeze can shift the bottom slightly and move fish habitats around.

Either way, get out there and fish.
