While we have not heard of a big mackerel bite yet, we know they are right around the corner. They have been seen by many.  Their size is not large, but there are plenty of schools sitting over and around the wreck at the end of the jetties.  Expect the mackerel to stay in for the next week.  Best way to get them is to use a sabiki or other multiple hook rig with a 2-3 ounce weight on there.
