Nantucket Fishing Report Charters Guide
Fishing Report Thursday July 2nd.
When will the storms stop!?! We hope in time for the Tournament on July 3rd. The good news is that prior to this eastern blow, the fishing was very good. But as we all know, An East wind is usually never good for fishing. We are hoping that is not the case here.
Prior to the blow and thunderstorms Fishing was solid. The Esat tide at Great Point produced Bass and Bluefish while The West tide produced some bass and more bluefish: As is typical. Usually the further you are out on the rip, the better the fishing for bass.
The Eastern Rips have still been producing big fish. REMEMBER, this is a catch and release area. Everybody seems to be running to the same edge, my advice, explore! It is a lot more fun to find new water.
If you are willing to go down to Pochick Rip there are still Bass, although they are deeper in the edge right now. Fish with wire line or a deep diving yozuri.
Bluefish have been caught on the outside of galls as well as on the south shore off the airport. This location is probably the most consistent spot for Blues on the Surface.
Tight Lines,
